About this item
An original British Army 1944 pattern jumper dating from 1948 which is in deadstock, unworn condition.
This jumper is based on the British Army officer's jungle pattern jumper which was introduced during the Second World War. It features the same opening at the shoulders which allow the epaulettes of the shirt worn underneath to be pulled through and worn on top of the jumper. The jumper is made from a machine knitted wool and features a V neck and cuff and waistband detail. Cotton reinforcing patches are located to the shoulders and the sleeves.
Inside the jumper the original manufacturer's label is still present and it bears the maker's initials of 'H. M. H. Ltd' and the size is stated as 3. The date of manufacture of 1948 is also included, as is the War Department broad arrow marking.
The jumper is a medium size which will suit around a 40" chest and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm - 22 1/2"
Outside arm - 23 3/4"
Shoulders - 19"
Length - 23"
The jumper is in very good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It does not show any signs of previous wear or use and could be described as 'deadstock' or 'unworn'. Please take time to study these before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, used item which has some small issues commensurate with age.
All in all a nice original jumper which comes complete with its original label.
This is a vintage item which is 'sold as seen'
