About this item
A rare original Indian pattern British pullover, and as you can see clearly dated This is quite a rare item as looking on the internet I cannot see another, just American ones
This pattern of jumper was introduced during the Second World War and saw issue in the Middle East and Far East. It is different to the British counterpart as it has a two button fastening to the neck and openings to the shoulders through which epaulettes could be passed. It is made from a army green / khaki coloured wool and features cotton drill reinforcement patches to each sleeve. The design of the jumper was considered far superior in quality and design when compared with the standard British Army pattern.
It has been darned in the upper back ( see pic ) and still has a hole in another on the back and will need darning.
Stitching has come away on the of the eppualette holes
Tall 38/40 chest
Worn with shirt eppaulettes through the pullover as seen in the pictures ( but the shirt and tie are not included )
