Original Korean War USMC Alpaca Lined Vest - Size 38

An original United States Marine Corps OD Alpaca Lined vest dating from around the time of the Korean War. 

This pattern of vest was introduced into service in time for the Korean War and saw issue with members of the USMC. It is typical of garments produced for the American military during the 1940s and 1950s featuring a cotton outer shell and an alpaca lining. It is a utilitarian garment with no pockets or other features, save from a front zip which features a nickel plated puller which bears the maker's name of 'Talon'. 

Inside the vest there is a hanging loop at the neck below which is a label which bears the brand name of 'Demotex-ed' which was an anti-moth compound used to treat the alpaca lining. Below this is a size label which reads '38'. 

The vest will suit a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures - 

Chest - 20 1/2"
Length at rear - 22 1/2"

The vest is in good condition with only very limited signs of wear and age. It displays very well overall and is totally wearable but is a vintage, pre-worn item so please take time to study the pictures before purchasing. 

A great piece of utilitarian design with nice period features.
