About this item
Appearing to pre date the application of the RZM marks in 1934, this early NSKK Dagger is by the desirable and less often seen maker, Tiger (Lauterjung & Co.).
Fittings top and bottom of the grip are in nickel and sit Firmly secured by their correct top locking screw.
The hardwood grip has darkened with age and is in good condition with minor pressure marks near the SA enamelled disc, the disc itself with one chip in the enamel. The nickel eagle and Swastika sits well in place. To the reverse of the grip there are two small chips at the edges of the wood where the grip fits against the arms of the top fitting. A motorgruppe mark is obvious on the cross guard but this is not discernible.
The nickel plated Blade is very good, full length and without damage and with good gross graining. Both the Tiger mark and inscription remain clear.
The scabbard is no less pleasing, free from dents and with the black enamel paint showing light scratches only. The nickel plated mounts are very good, the ball tip with a very minor dent to the underside.
