A scarce example of the Boer War issue soldiers folding knife.
This example is marked to the ricasso of the main knife "W/| D 6" and maker marked "A. Ibbitt Sheffield" to the other.
The main blade carries signs of sharpening for its entire length. There is slight movement to both blade and spike when folded out. The marlin spike sits slightly askew when folded.
The horn grip scales have been personalised by the original owner, and look to have an old repair, but no movement.
A hard knife to find, and this example comes in good condition, which could be improved.
