About this item
The RAF Dinghy Survival Knife is a rare and collectable item from the World War II era, specifically associated with the Air Force service during the conflict. This knife was meant to be used by RAF personnel for survival purposes in the event of a ditching or crash in the sea.
t is in very good condition and rarely for this item comes complete with its leather sheath/scabbard. The orange cork handle (designed so that it would float and easily be seen) is also in VGC. The blade is exceptionally well preserved and at first glance could be new, such is the quality of the stainless steel. Lastly the press stud on the leather sheath is still intact and marries up with female stud on the blade handle, however as you might expect for its age the leather is dry and somewhat dirty, but I have resisted the urge to clean it up and add nourishing wax/oil as that might detract from its authenticity.
