About this item
A very nice undamaged example of an all black B2 Second Pattern Fairbairn Sykes Fighting (Commando) Dagger.
The brass hilt retains most of the bluing with just the usual service wear. The steel crossguard is clearly stamped B2 with a small amount of surface rust which I feel would be easily removed without damage to the finish.
The blade is 175 mm in length, never tipped or sharpened and free from edge nicks.
Both frog and scabbard are very good, the frog with the elastic retaining strap removed and possibly reattached to the scabbard at some time. The scabbard itself is also very good, the wings in place and with the correct squared off blackened brass chape.
