The Sykes and Fairbairn MK 3 Commando Knife is a British military combat knife designed for use by commandos and other special forces units. The knife was first developed in the early 1940s by William Ewart Fairbairn and Eric Anthony Sykes, who were both martial arts experts and members of the British Army's Shanghai Municipal Police.
The MK 3 Commando Knife has a distinctive, symmetrical design with a double-edged blade that is approximately 7 inches (18 cm) long. The blade is made of high-carbon steel and is sharpened on both sides, allowing for versatile cutting and thrusting techniques. The handle is made of brass and has a knurled pattern that provides a secure grip even in wet conditions.
The knife was designed for close-quarters combat and is considered to be a highly effective weapon in hand-to-hand combat situations. It has been used by British commandos and other special forces units.
