About this item
German WWII Heer Dagger With Hanger By Carl Eickhorn
This stunning WWII German Army officer’s dagger, produced by Carl Eickhorn, remains in excellent condition with matching pommel, guard, and ferrule, all crisply detailed and well-preserved.
The grip is a rich orange hue, The scabbard, also by Eickhorn, features a fine matching patina, with well-defined pebbling on the panels and sharp detailing on the bands. The thick throat is secured by a center screw on the reverse.
The blade is bright throughout, showcasing crossgrain and a needle-like tip. There is minor graying visible on the reverse near the tip, but overall, the blade remains in excellent to mint condition.
The reverse ricasso is deeply etched with the Eickhorn squirrel trademark, used between 1935 and 1941.
Accompanying the dagger is an original army hanger with excellent brocade straps that remain stiff, exhibiting some age. The reverse velvet backing is in very good condition. The hardware is finely detailed, featuring oak leaf designs and pebbling with an attractive aged patina.
A superb example of an Eickhorn Heer officer’s dagger, complete with its original hanger.
