About this item
WW2 RAF 41 PATTERN MAE WEST FLOATING TORCH. As used and carried in the 1941 pattern Mae West. A simple floating torch designed to help with visibility if downed in the sea.
This example is in excellent unissued and boxed condition. Complete with the torch, cable, and battery pack. No major issues we can see, bar light storage wear. The electric cable on these torches very often, hardens, breaks, and crumbles off. The cable on this example is however in excellent condition, completely flexible, and could be fitted into a Mae West torch pouch easily.
The battery pack is again in good condition with all of its paint still intact, marked with a nice large broad arrow stamp, and stores reference number 5A/2728. Comes in its original GEC box, again in excellent condition.
Overall possibly the best-floating torch we've ever had, ideal for completing your Mae West display, RAF collection, museum, and reenactor display.
