This is a very rare 1917 Royal Flying Corps navigational computer similar to one illustrated in Mark Hillers book Royal Flying Corps kitbag
This one has lost its back retaining screw which held the two pieces together and one of the arm sliders.
neither the less this is a very rare item used for in-flight navigation during World War one
