About this item
An original British Army rifle sling dating from the Second World War which was used on a variety of weapons including the Lee Enfield SMLE and No.4 Rifles.
The sling is made from the standard khaki coloured webbing material used throughout the first half of the 20th Century. It features style fittings rather than brass. This style of fitting was introduced as a wartime economy measure in the mid-war period.
The sling is maker marked 'P. M. LTD' which denotes Peckham Mills. The 1942 date is also present as is the War Department acceptance stamp.
The sling is in good unissued condition with no signs of use. There is some slight marking from storage however which is illustrated in the pictures.
A good original sling which would be ideal to complete a WW2 period weapon.
