For sale is a WW1 1914-15 Star To Pte E E Churcher Royal Irish Regiment, Discharged Due To Milaria & Research.

  The medal is engraved “3-8490 Pte E E Churcher R IR Regt”.   Ernest Edward Churcher was born in 1894 in Colchester, Essex. Upon enlistment he was living at 67 Culver Street, Colchester, Essex. His trade upon enlisting was a bakers assistant.    Ernest served with the royal Irish regiment under the service numbers 3-8490 at the rank of private and with the royal engineers under the service numbers WR 297192, 25027 and 237136 under the rank of sapper.    On the 12th of December 1917 Ernest was transfered to the sick convoy after catching malaria. Ernest had served a total of 3 years and 3 months. Shortly after he was discharged due to not being physically fit for service.    Ernest was entitled to a British war medal, victory medal, 1914-15 star and a silver wound badge. Unfortunately only the 1914-15 star is present.    This still has plenty of research potential.    Accompanying this medal is 6 scans of his service records.
