Awarded to 2nd Air Mechanic Ernest Herbert Day of the Royal Air Force former Royal Flying Corps. Victory Medal (145028. 2.A.M. E.H. Day. R.A.F.) Ernest Herbert Day was born in 1880 and later following the outbreak of WWI Ernest Herbert Day enlisted in the Army. His civilian occupation before the war is recorded as Carpenter & Joiner. He saw service with on 26th February 1917 serving with the Devon Regiment and later seeing service with the Labour Corps 14th May 1917. He then transferred to the Royal Flying Corps on 31st December 1917. Records show that on joining the records shows his service trade as Aero Rigger. (with copy Service Record)
