For sale is a WW2 British Home Front Royal Air Force RAF Spitfire Fund Badge. This is in good condition. This little handmade copper badge is of a spitfire and would have been sold to raise money for the spitfire fund.
About the spitfire fund: A national campaign, supported by Lord Beaverbrook, the Minister for Aircraft Production, encouraged individual towns, factories and communities to raise money to buy a Spitfire. In total, 1400 campaigns were launched, collecting in the end £13 million, equivalent to about £650 million today.
