    About this item

For sale is a WW2 RAF The Aeroplane Simply Explained By Malcolm Logan published in 1941.

The preface reads;   “SINCE the first edition of this book was published, the aeroplane has come to play a more important part in our existence. Although far far more complicated than the simple light aeroplane described in these pages, our bombers and fighters fly and are controlled on the same guiding principles that I have attempted to explain. For those interested in the elementary principles of flying a light aeroplane there is a com- panion book, Flying Simply Explained. My thanks are due to Mr. Robin Piercy for several suggestions which are embodied in the present edition. AVIATION provides a happy hunting ground for the scientist and the technician, but its understanding is by no means for them alone. The author has attempted to describe the main constructional details of the aeroplane and its working principles in a simple manner. Every attempt has been made to avoid confusing the novice and it is hoped that the simple diagrams will assist in this direction. If you are one of those people who look up at the sound of a passing aeroplane I hope that this book will help you to a clearer understanding of how it got there. My thanks are due to Mr. F. Rodker for his in- valuable assistance with the drawings.”   This will be sent via Royal Mail 1st class signed for and dispatched within two working days.
