From the estate of Lt B Nightingale
Attributed to Second Lieutenant Benjamin Nightingale who was from West Smethwick Staffordshire and an original volunteer for the 16th (3rd Birmingham Pals) being issued the number 71. He landed in France with the rank of Corporal on the 21st November 1915. He was reported wounded on the 2nd November 1916 and was granted a Commission into the Warwick’s on the 30th October 1917, later returning to France with his new rank.
