About this item
A very nice and almost complete set of RAF Mk1Vb Goggles with accessories, missing just the copper fitting rivets.
The Goggles themselves are let down only by the usual hardening and loss to the four rubber pads on the inside and one arm of the swivel latch which allows the right window to be removed. I have shown this in the last image in the open position to show the missing arm. The frame retains all the original factory paint and is without bends or other damage. The Crookes B lenses or windows are far better than usually encountered with slight delamination only around the edges. The sunshield is without damage, the hinge assembly working well.
Leather nose piece, sprung loops, springs and leather strap are all excellent.
The accessory and spares kit is in very good condition and contains one pair of clear lenses in fair only condition, the Bakelite container with the demisting compound still present and unused, tool for adjusting the frame and removing the Sun Shield, leather forehead protector and all four guide plates for fitting to the helmet.
Finally, the carboard storage box remains in good condition with slight distress and splits to the edges of the lid.
