About this item
WW2 USAAF 8TH AF OFFICERS "IKE" JACKET - Attributed LT. H. B Hutchinson - 446th BG Flixton.
A really nice iconic "IKE" style jacket, worn by officers in the Army and Air force. This example is a tailored example, where they have taken a standard officers tunic and had it reduced in size and tailored into the IKE style jacket, which was so common among Air force and Army officers of the time.
This example is in nice, lightly worn condition, with no moth damage we can see anywhere. Adorned in original Air Force insignia, navigators bullion wing. And with a nice English made 8th Air Force patch on the shoulder. The jacket is tagged with a laundry tag, which has enabled us to research the original owner. We believe the jacket to have been owned and worn by Lieutenant H B Hutchinson of the 446th bomb group, flying B-24s out of Flixton.
Overall, a really nice jacket, ideal for any USAAF museum, display, or collection.
