    About this item

Now very difficult to find, especially in such outstanding condition, this is the second pattern Satchel for the carriage of 18 Flare Cartridges for the German Flare Pistols.

While most of the second pattern Satchels were constructed in Presstoff (compressed paper) this is  real leather and is completely free from damage. A manufacturer’s three letter code, WaA stamp and 43 date remains clear inside the lid, the lid itself closed by two straps over studs. There are belt loops at the back and a black leather shoulder strap which, whilst I feel sure it has  some application in German wartime equipment,  it is perhaps not correct for this Satchel.

These second pattern pieces feature a clever sloping design which cuts down the width by elongating the body.
