Afghanistan Medal 1878 No Clasp. (10B/707 LCE CORPL. J. MEAD. 2/14TH. REGT.). Awarded to Lance Corporal Joseph Mead who served with the 2nd Battalion “14th Regiment of Foot”, Prince of Wales Own, West Yorkshire Regiment. He was awarded the Afghanistan Medal 1878, no clasp confirmed on regimental roll. Records show he was discharged from the Army and later Joseph Mead became a resident of the Royal Chelsea Hospital.
