Dutch Klewang Cutlass

An untouched Dutch/Netherlands Klewang Short Sword/Sidearm.

This example with unconverted guard, with grips of hardwood, secured by rivets. No movement between blade and hilt.

The unmodified 25.25 inch single fullered curved blade with traces of the original finish, underneath the old rust and grime. I can see no visible makers marking at the ricasso, although these may have been removed. The cutting edge shows signs of service sharpening, and edge nicks.

No scabbard. The whole cutlass is completely untouched, and would benefit from some gentle cleaning.
