    About this item

An 1897 Pattern Infantry officers sword. This example retailed by the Army and Navy Co-operative Society.

This sword carries the GRI monogram to hilt and blade, denoting that its owner served in India. The original carrying bag accompanying the sword has the initials "W.C.L." which may open up an avenue for research into its original owner.

The sword seems to have seen very light service, as the hilt, grip and blade carry only minor blemishes, being very close to mint condition.

Sadly the nickel plated dress scabbard has suffered some corrosion, which has lifted the plating in places. If you were to get this professionally cleaned and replated, you would have a near exceptional sword.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
