About this item
Incredibly detailed tin plate model of an 88mm anti-aircraft gun by the German toy
manufacturer Lineol. The model is based on the famous WWII era German 88 mm
anti-aircraft gun and has operating elevation and transverse wheels, barrel with cap firing
mechanism, and mounted on a cruciform base with folding side arms. It is mounted upon
two detachable traveling bogeys. The bogeys have black treaded rubber tires marked
“LINEOL” and feature the first version pre-war screw & wheel locking devices. The model is
finished in the pre-war, tri-color camouflage pattern. Very good condition with minor
chipped paint in areas that would receive normal wear. All parts appear to be present and
functional, showing normal wear to the operational features. Barrel length 10", overall 15
1/4", 5" wide in traveling position. Just obtained in Germany. Such models would have
been cherished by German boys, most of whom were part of the Hitler Youth, and many of
whom later served in Germany’s armed forces during WWII. 7.5 cm series and made to go
with the Lineol Staff Car, offered elsewhere on this site.
