1944 Dated Royal Army Medical Corps Officer's Battledress Blouse

A good WW2 Battledress Blouse with originally applied insignia to a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Army Medical Corps within the British 14th Army.

A size 10 the Blouse has a tailored collar typical of an officer, two pleated breast pockets and a three button front closure. Dated 1944 it is of Canadian manufacture which is not an uncommon feature given the Allies' typically disparate supply situation in the Far East.

The shoulder straps bear a cherry-red backed pip and crown for the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Army Medical Corps. To each shoulder arc there is then applied a matching cherry-red embroidered shoulder title for the R.A.M.C, with below that the embroidered insignia of the 14th Army. Above the left breast this officer has medal ribbons for the 39-45 Star, the Africa Star, the Burma Star, the Defence Medal and War Medal.

Overall condition is very good with some very light moth to the right side of the lay flat collar and button closure flap.

The 14th Army was formed in India in 1943. It fought the entire war in the Burma campaign.
