    About this item

An original WW2 United States Army Second Pattern Herringbone Twill jacket in used condition.

This pattern of jacket was introduced to replace the first pattern example and saw service throughout the rest of the war. It is fitted with metal 13 star buttons throughout. The jacket features large pockets to the chest which are the most obvious piece of design found on the second pattern jacket. This example has seen extensive civilian use, quite possibly in France. It has been fitted with British made revolving shank buttons to the front and features various period repairs which are typically found on original northern European worn workwear items from this period.

The original size tag is still present and bears the size of 38R. It will easily fit a modern 42" chest however, and when laid flat the jacket measures -

    Chest - 23 1/2"
    Inside arm - 20"
    Outside arm - 22 1/2"
    Shoulders - 20"
    Length - 28"

The jacket is in good condition with plenty of signs of wear and use. It has various marks and repairs as shown which really add to its character. The jacket is still very wearable but please study the pictures carefully before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have other small issues commensurate with age.

A great example of a civilian used WW2 fatigue jacket with fantastic period repairs.
