    About this item

An extremely rare 1939 Dated Pair of Luftwaffe Model PST 4004 (Flieger – Pelzstiefel 4004) Double Zip Flying Boots.

A good size, perhaps 41 -42 with a measurement of 29 cms. from the end of the sole to the heal, the boots are in very good condition and free from any sign of damage with all four zips operating perfectly.

Introduced in 1937 this early model was soon superseded by the better known single zip variety to preserve materials, with the heated version appearing later.

The shoe section is made of black leather with heavy stitching attaching it to the “Original Wilop” one piece non slip rubber sole which is without doubt the original sole, showing some wear to the raised non slip pattern. Across the top of the shoe is a single leather strap secured by a friction buckle.

The shafts are black suede, again free from damage or wear with a single leather vertical strap at the back and with a full length zip on both sides of the shaft, each with the original DRP “Ri Ri” pulls and leather tabs, protected on the inner pulls by a leather flap and press fastener. A second leather securing strap runs around the top of the shafts, tightened again by a friction buckle.

Inside, the lambskin lining is without wear and both boots have a partially discernible label the two digit date 39 clear on one.

A very good example of a rare pair of Flying Luftwaffe Flying Boots.
