Unquestionably the finest example of the Fleet war Badge I have ever been able to offer, this badge is maker marked to Schwerin, Berlin the only manufacturer to produce these badges in a fire gilded Tombak .
On the obverse the matte fire gilding to the wreath and eagle is completely without loss or wear, the blueing to the ship and reverse in similar condition.
This is an early badge with the lower portion of the reserve scooped out. The hinge block tapered pin and securing hook are also free from damage.
It would be very difficult to upgrade this lovely example.
