    About this item

A former Double decal Luftwaffe SE62 helmet, one of a number of items to have recently emerged from a garden shed, all having suffered the same indignities caused by time and environment.

With a lot number of 4021 this helmet was manufactured in 1939 originally with two decals, the national colours removed by order as is the case here.

The shell is without damage and retains much of the blue grey parade finish. The original eagle decal is in place with minor loss only.

Inside, the liner is the obvious drawback, the leather having suffered major loss but the original chin strap is in place though trimmed slightly.

With single decal Luftwaffe helmets now achieving £800 -£900 and with chinstraps selling for around £150, I believe I have priced this helmet fairly with potential for a good increase in value if the buyer chose to fit an original undamaged liner.
