    About this item

Orders pertaining to the II (Badisches) Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 111, part of the 56th Reserve Infanterie Brigade, 28th Reserve Division.

Four pages in total, all pertaining to the same Battalion. Typed onto very thing and fragile tissue type paper. Quite fragile, some holes, but all legible, and a very rare survival.

When I purchased this group these were folded with the following on the outer face:

"German Officers Army Orders, captured on the Somme Battle July 1916 D.M.Rowland Lt RE"

Douglas Mayhew Rowland served with the Artists Rifles pre war, and was later commissioned into the Royal Engineers, survived WW1, and joined the Hertfordshire Home Guard during WW2.

A scarce survival, and likely unique.
