    About this item

A superb signed photograph of Horatio Herbert Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener (1850-1916)

A similar example is held in the National Portrait Gallery, HERE

This example has been signed "Kitchener Of Khartoum" which coupled with the date the photograph was taken, allows us to date this to 1898, after he was created Baron Kitchener of Khartoum, but before he was appointed chief of staff to Field Marshal Lord Roberts during the Boer War.

Bearing the photographers stamp for G. Lekegian & Co, Cairo.

Housed in a black wooden frame, which has obviously been its home for a very long time. The frame measures 8.5 inches by 11 inches.

*Please note that this item will be dispatched in its frame as seen, and wrapped judiciously. However we will bear no responsibilty for any breakages or damage incurred in transit.*
