About this item
An original women's military blouse as worn by members of the ATS amongst other organisations during the Second World War.
The blouse is typical of the period being made from a khaki coloured poplin cotton and featuring an attached collar which has a nice spearpoint shape, as was popular during the 1940s. Pleated breasted pockets are located to the chest and the sleeves feature a barrel cuff. All the buttons are original, save for the bottom front button, and are typical of those found on wartime shirts. Epaulettes are fitted to each shoulder.
Inside the neckband of the collar the original markings are still present and include the manufacturers initials 'J. L (M/C) Ltd'.
When laid flat the shirt measures -
Chest - 23 3/4"
Inside arm - 21 1/4"
Outside arm - 24"
Shoulders - 16 3/4"
Length - 27"
Collar - 14 1/2"
The blouse is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are some signs of wear and age but overall it displays well and looks to be very wearable. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
A nice original shirt which would make a great addition to a period uniform.
