About this item
An original Rhodesian Army Brushstroke camouflage shirt made by 'Trevain' and dating from the 1960s.
This pattern of camouflage was worn by Rhodesian units from 1965 until 1980 and has become one of the classic disruptive patterns today and is still in use in some parts of the world. This example is an original which dates from the 1960s.
The shirt is made of cotton and features a screen printed camouflage pattern of brown and green strokes on a tan background. The shirt features a fully buttoning front, long sleeves which feature a barrel cuff and an open face collar. Inside the neck the original label is still present and is a typical style used during the 1960s, bearing the manufacturer's name of 'Trevain'.
The shirt is a small size which will suit a 36" - 38" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 22"
Inside arm - 19 1/2"
Outside arm - 23 1/2"
Length - 28"
Shoulders - 16 3/4"
The condition of the shirt is very good with only limited signs of age and wear. The printed pattern is still bright and overall the shirt is very wearable although there is a small flaw to one of the cuffs as detailed in the pictures. It is however a vintage item which may have small issues commensurate with age so please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
A nice original shirt in a striking, classic camouflage pattern and complete with its original label and insignia.
