About this item
An original pair of 1962 pattern Tartan Trews dating from the late 1970s and in a size No. 6.
This pattern of trousers was worn by Scottish regiments with each regiment having their own tartan. The trousers are made from wool which features a button fly which fastens with black plastic buttons, typical of British Army trousers from the mid-Century period. Inside the waistband there are buttons to which braces can be attached and waist adjusters made from the same material as the rest of the trousers are located at each hip. Slash pockets can be found to each side seam and there are no rear pockets.
Inside the trousers the original label is still present and bears the title of 'Trews No. 5A' along with the size of 6 and the contrac number which starts CT3B which denotes the manufacture date as approximately 1979.
The trousers will suit a 32" -33" waist and when laid flat they measure -
Waist - 16 1/2"
Rise - 15"
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Inside leg - 30 1/2"
Outside leg - 43"
Cuff - 9"
Overall the trousers are in very good condition and are still very wearable. They display very well but please bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
A nice original pair of trousers complete with their original label!
