    About this item

A very good original World War Two period Royal Air Force Ordinary Airman's Tunic in good condition.

This pattern of tunic was introduced before WW2 and was worn throughout the conflict by all RAF airmen up to the rank of Flight Sergeant as both a working dress and a walking out uniform.

The jacket features brass King's crown RAF buttons as well as a brass waist buckle as are usually seen on this pattern of tunic. Wartime pattern printed economy eagle badges are fitted to the top of each sleeve.

Inside the tunic the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It states the size as No. 12 and the maker as 'B. Bloom Limited'. The 1946 date is also present as is the War Department broad arrow marking. When laid flat the tunic measures -

    Chest - 20 1/2"
    Waist - 16 1/2"
    Inside arm - 18 1/2"
    Outside arm - 25 1/2"
    Length - 3"
    Shoulders - 17 1/4"

The tunic is in excellent condition for its age and overall displays well. It shows only limited signs of wear and use but on the whole it is a good example. It is still a deep blue coloured and has not been overly washed or faded out. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing as this is a vintage item with small issues commensurate with age.

This is a very good example which would make a good addition to any collection.
