About this item
This is the first pattern issued jacket with an unlined collar .Battle Dress Jacket in khaki woollen material with open pressed collar . Pleated chest pockets with buttoned flaps. Extended lower belt. Both arms with printed "Home Guard" titles over "SX26" Sussex County formation badges . The right arm with single Sergent stripes surmounted by a Kings crown (top unstitched showing how long it has been there) . Shoulder straps showing holes where Officer rank has been hence the reissue to the Home Guard at a later date. WW1 Medal ribbon bar to the left chest .Internal issue label absent ( it would have been a paper linen label so they wash out ). Some minor moth damage and service wear. Rare to get a first issue tunic.
