    About this item

For sale is a WW2 Publication Production A Plan For War Industry By Hephaestus Smith which was published in February 1942 by the new statesman and nation, 10 great turnstile london wc1.    The summary of this 32 Page booklet is as follows:   “To achieve 100 per cent. of potential production is impossible. To achieve only 60 or at most 70 per cent. is to fail. Yet that is where we stand to-day, after more than two years of heaving and straining at a rope that we refuse to untie. The solution to our dilemma can be put in a very few words, which may serve as a summary. They are:    1. Take over completely the big firms and combines in the war trades.    2. Decentralise the control of production and reorganise it on regional lines.    3. Abolish the "Controls" and organise a real Ministry of Production.    4. Enlist the full co-operation of the workers in the factories.    5. If financial incentives are needed, offer them to those who can make a return in higher production, and not to those who cannot. And finally:    6. Destroy the foolish and obstructive political compact which puts the claims of Capital before the claims of victory”   This is in good condition.   This will be sent via  royal mail 1st class signed for and dispatched within two working days.    Seller reference number Box 2
