About this item
Second pattern S98/05 Bayonet, known as the n/A (neuer Art = newer model). The second pattern lacked the first pattern's vestigial muzzle ring (or 'ears') and incorporated a flashguard.
The Bayonet is in very good condition. The pommel has one inspection stamp with the release button operating perfectly. The two part walnut grips are very good with no damage
The blade is one of the best I have seen and without damage, the ricasso marked to Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G. Oberndorf a.n the upper edge with the cypher of King Wilhelm11 of Wuttenberg and a 17 date.
The steel scabbard is in very good condition without damage and with most of the original blueing, the throat with the same markings as the ricasso.
