About this item
Deactivated Schmeisser MP40 9mm Sub Machine Gun in excellent overall deactivated condition, with correct original sling, moving steel dummy bolt that locks back in the safety notch (under spring pressure), bolt lock, and moving trigger. 1943 BNZ code, Mauser manufacture. The MP40, or Schmeisser, as it is better known is one of those guns that everybody instantly recognises. They were a development of the earlier MP38 and served the Nazis and German armies throughout the war. They were a very well made, reliable weapon and were as good as any other design in use at the time. They were very popular with allied troops and were still being used by the SAS in the Gulf states well into the 1960s were their reliability in sandy conditions was appreciated. An iconic classic for the serious collector. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
