About this item
A nice example of a pre-WWII German Wehrmacht military field satchel. This rare, early-production piece features a heavy-duty dark green (Heeresgrün) cotton canvas body reinforced with premium chocolate-brown leather trim, a thick leather carry handle, and dual leather closure straps with original metal roller buckles.
Has a nice clear manufacturer mark “B36" Depot Stamp on the inside leather tab. This denotes official military acceptance by the Bekleidungsamt Berlin in 1936. Pre-war gear from this specific timeframe is highly prized by collectors for its superior build quality, heavy-duty stitching, and premium materials, which were heavily compromised later in the war.
Strong structural integrity with no major rot or canvas tearing. Displays minor, authentic field wear and light fading consistent with age. The leather handle and fastening straps remain intact. All original metal roller buckles and rivets are present with a natural vintage patina. The leather is in good condition with some age-related wear, is a bit stiff due to age.
