About this item
An original British made khaki coloured cotton work shirt dating from the 1950s.
This shirt is typical of those made in the 1940 and 1950s for Labourers in the UK. It is made from a hard wearing cotton drill and features a half front, or 'tunic' front as was popular before the war. Shirt were still made in this style into the 1950s but were slowly being phased out by full button front shirts.
The shirt features a stand and fall collar which has an understated spearpoint shape to it, typical of the period. The front fastens with small green coloured plastic buttons and a single patch pocket is fixed to the breast.
The shirt is a rare extra large size and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 27"
Length - 33"
Shoulders - 22"
Collar - 18"
The shirt is in good condition and does not appear to have seen much wear or use. It displays very well and is still very wearable but does have some marks as can be seen in the pictures.
All in all a nice mid century work shirt in a hard to find large size.
