About this item
An original Royal Air Force Ordinary Airman's shirt which was made in 1956.
This pattern of shirt was introduced around the end of the Second World War and is made from an end-on-end cotton which is a darker shade to those worn by officers. It features a full button front, barrel cuffs and a neck band collar. Inside the collar the 1956 date is present as is the stores code which starts with 22B. The War Department broad arrow marking is also present.
The shirt will suit around a 36" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 22"
Inside arm - 20 1/2"
Outside arm - 23 3/4"
Shoulders - 17 1/4"
Length - 33"
Collar - 14"
The shirt is in good condition and is still very wearable with some marks etc including one to the front. Please take time to study these before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage item with small issues commensurate with age.
