About this item
An original British Army or RAF 'Shirt Men's Green' dating from the 1960s which is in good, used condition.
The shirt is made from a green coloured cellular cotton which is often referred to as 'Aertex'. It is a lightweight, breathable fabric ideally suited to the tropics and was popular with the British military during WW2 as well as in the post-war years. It features a full button front, pleated chest pockets, epaulettes and long sleeves. There is evidence of where a parachute qualification wing has been removed from the upper portion of the right sleeve.
The original label is present to the inside of the neck but all the details have been washed out.
The shirt will suit around a 40" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 22 1/2"
Inside arm - 21"
Outside arm - 24"
Shoulders - 17 1/2"
Length at rear - 36"
Collar - 16"
The shirt is in reasonable condition with signs of wear or use. It displays well and is still totally wearable but has some marks and stains which are evident in the pictures. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a pre-worn, vintage item and which may have other small issues consummate with age.
