Promoted sergeant, mid card indicates his regiment as the 9th Devonshire’s
On the 5th of October 1916 he is listed wounded and entitled to a wound stripe
On the 7th May 1917 he is again wounded and transferred by No 9 Ambulance Train with a gun shot wound to the testicles, and its noted he was in the 9th Battalion Devonshire Regiment
If he was in the 9th Devonshire’s for both woundings, 5th of October indicates around the time of the Battle of Guillemot, and the 7th of May 1917 around the time of the Battle of Bullecourt.
There is also the possibility he took part in the regiments famous action on the 1st of July 1916
