    FOOTNOTE

    John Symon, a baker from Buckie, Banff, was born about 1871. He attested into the Seaforth Highlanders on 11 May 1889 and served with the 2nd Battalion during the Chitral campaign of 1895. He was discharged to pension as medically unfit on 18 December 1899.
