1) Excellent Original WW2 British Army Issue Short Padded Sleeping Mat. An interesting wartime sleeping mat. A fairly uncommon item to find as many were used post war to lie on under cars etc, some were sewn together to make sleeping bags for post war use. This one is in  good order with a few repairs as seen in the photos. One corner has been torn and repaired but done well. Only 1 of the original 3 cloth ties remain, the other 2 stubs are there but ties long since gone. These are of similar to the puttee ties so could easily be replaced. It cones with 2 wartime utility straps holding it in a roll. This has no visible markings but is 100% early WW2 issue. It measures 38 inches long X 24 inches wide.  An identical item can be seen to the bottom of page 124 in the excellent book "The World War II Tommy" by M.Brayley & R.Ingram.
