About this item

Generally considered to be one of the rarest and most desirable of the Panzer Assault Badges is the early Hollow Tombak Badge by Adolf Scholze as I have here.

Covered in depth on pages 423 – 426 of volume 2, 2nd  edition, these badges are known for their excellent quality and detail.

This example is no exception and retains most of the silver plating to the obverse and remains completely free from damage.

To the reverse the maker’s initials are distinct, raised from the die struck casting, along with the letters Z and M which Philippe de Brock mentions. The pin set up is without damage and features the distinctive ball hinge, attached to a round base plate held in place by four dot solders. The catch is of the Shepheard’s hook type, sitting on a rectangular base plate.

Weight 20.81 grams.
