WW2 RAF/SOE ISSUE ESCAPE HACKSAW BLADE. Often found in escape kits issued to RAF/USAAF/SOE and AIRBORNE SOLDIERS. A simple but useful and effective escape aid, easily concealable upon a person's clothing. These would be used for sawing through any barbed wire, cell bars, cutting wood, etc. The blade could be bound onto a piece of wood, using a piece of string or shoelace through the hole producing a perfectly usable hacksaw.
This example in probably unissued/unused condition. It comes in original waxed paper packaging. The blade itself is still in good condition, with no issues bar some storage marks to the blade and light surface oxidization. A good example of these escape saws is ideal for any escape & evasion collection, display, or museum.
