WW2 RAF 43/F MARK III ESCAPE MAP PURSE

WW2 RAF/SOE/AIRBORNE 43 F MARK III ESCAPE MAP PURSE. A fantastic condition 43 F escape map purse, as issued to allied forces. This purse would have originally contained several escape maps covering most of France. As well as an escape saw blade and an escape compass, sometimes also issued with currency. 

The purse is in excellent condition for its age, with good clear graphics on the front and rear. The large red F and white number 43 to the front would indicate it contained 43 series escape maps, which would of covered most of France. It could also have contained French currency. On the reverse, it is marked as a MARK III. There is no damage we can see really, it has been opened and is now empty. The purse is made from a rubberized tan material, inside the rubber coating is still soft and in good condition. No splits to the seams or tears. Overall a very nice example of these rare and sought-after escape map purses, ideal for any RAF/Allied forces museum display, collection or reenactment use.
