About this item
Original Volunteer Medical Staff Corps (VMSC) swagger stick dating to the Victorian period, prior to the formation of the Royal Army Medical Corps in 1898.
A good example featuring a crowned “VR” (Victoria Regina) cypher mount, confirming manufacture during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837–1901) and firmly placing it in the correct historical context.
The VMSC was the direct forerunner of the RAMC, making this an authentic piece of early British military medical history.
Condition: Very good overall with light, honest age-related wear. Shaft remains straight and sound, mount retains clear detail.
Measurements: Length: approx. 68.3 cm
A genuine Victorian military swagger stick with VR cypher, ideal for collectors of RAMC, medical corps, or 19th century British militaria.
